Tarke wale Chawal

Basmati rice are recommended but you can use any other variety. It can be eaten with a number of lentils, curries and other dishes.

  • 2 cup Rice
  • 1 Onion small, sliced
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • ½ cup Oil


  • Take Oil in a skillet and then add sliced onions. When golden brown then add cumin seeds in it. Add 2 cups of water. Add salt. When the water is hot then add rice. When the water is dry then cover the lid for cooking.
  • After 5 minutes uncover the lid.
  • Your healthy tarke wale chawal are ready. Serve hot with any curry.


  • When the vapor will start appear then add water.
  • You can also add bay leaf and whole spices powder in it.
